Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full bodypainting take?

Depends on the specific paint job (the amount of detail, costuming, complexity of design and so forth). Generally a full body painting takes anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. Then, obviously, more time would be required if the session was followed-up with a photo shoot.

How easy is it to clean the paint off?

We only use water-soluble paint, so it requires just soap and water. Some colors are more stubborn than others, and it may require two showers. Someone to help wash your back might be a good idea. An application of baby oil helps, as does a pumice-based soap (like Lava).

Are all models nude?

No, but it is body painting and the less and/or more discrete the clothing the better the finished product looks. Even with little or no clothing, the photographs can be as provocative or discrete as you wish. We typically go for “implied” artistic nudity (something we like to call “artrotica”).

Why cats?

First of all, we can do anything and are not limited to cats (bring us your ideas), but with that said who doesn’t like cats? We think they look impressive, and find that most other people agree. Seemed like a natural theme.

Can a bodypainting/photo shoot be done anywhere?

We are able to take what we need anywhere as long as there’s enough room to work (a park, studio, banquet hall, bar/club, convention center, dressing room, your living room….anywhere). You are free to come to us, or we can come to you. A set or outdoor locale for taking pictures is another matter — we can certainly provide that, or if you have a place or location you’d like to use, we’re willing to travel.

What's a typical bodypainting session like?

After meeting, we clarify what we hope to accomplish with the job. Then we talk, find a comfortable location, play music, and begin the unique process. We start with painting the face so you can remain seated as long as possible and work down — finishing hair and costuming at the end.
